I like any company that says they “make only the most nutritious foods that inspire a joy of eating”. I like to eat, and I really like it when someone else does the cooking. Even better if they come up with catchy kid-appealing names for the things they've cooked up! So, stumbling across Plum Organics Fiddlesticks snack made me happy. Now, you’re not going to catch me popping one of these Fiddlesticks into my mouth, as I prefer my apples and carrots whole, thank you very much. But for a snack to keep in the car for those days when you can’t get home from preschool fast enough, this is a good one.Fiddlesticks come in three flavors: Berry, Banana or Apple Carrot. I picked up the Apple Carrot ones today, and they were a hit with my little one.
Here’s what’s in the apple carrot ones (a longer list of ingredients than I usually like to see in something I eat, but it’s all good stuff): organic brown rice flour, organic tapioca flour, organic garbanzo bean, flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic sunflower oil, organic dextrose, organic nonfat dry milk, organic potato starch, organic dried apples, organic eggs, natural flavor, baking soda, baking powder, xanthan gum, organic carrot juice concentrate, ground annatto seed used for color.
(In case you're wondering if I am saying nice things because I got them for free. No, I paid $2.99 for a box of 12 at our local Whole Foods. I promise you'll be the first to know when people start giving me things for free!)
Hey Eila, in which aisle did you find them? I looked at the Westport store but couldn't find them... these really look great for a "car snack"! I also LOVE the "Just Tomatoes, Etc" freeze dried fruits and veggies (and lately the TJ's ones too).
ReplyDeleteThey were on an end aisle display, across from the frozen foods. I think the end of the baking/diaper/baby food aisle. I assume they will be with the other teething biscuits and children's snacks. Hope this helps!
